Mated Argus Cintar 50 3.5 with Canon 20D!

Very impressive! As someone who hacked a Holga lens to a Minolta 5D before you could buy them commerically, it's nice to see someone similarly demented.

Mated, you say.
Let's all hope they don't reproduce!
Canons and Argusi are both irritatingly difficult to get a picture out of, but for different reasons. One overcomplicated, the other oversimplified. The offspring could either be genius or torture.
An interesting hack, as said. Looks like it could have promise with the lens wide open for portraiture or 'lo fi' street photos.

Very cool.

Wide open, not surprising...isn't that typical in the Brick also? Being a Triplet design, I thought it needed f/11-16 for full sharp frame.

That's a beautiful old Kodak lens/shutter too.

Here's an idea, if I don't have it conceptually backwards...

Whatever size accessories your vintage C3 used (Series V?), a Telek or equivalent negative diopter lens would lengthen the f.l. a bit, perhaps allowing it to sit further away from the sensor.

This is cool stuff.
The Cintar is reportedly very sharp with extremely high resolution in the center. Did you see such sharpness?

absolutly, it was so sharp that I went and took a bunch of pictures with it wide open or close to it and blew them up to 40 inches and it still looked good!

A little update on this project, I have not used the argus lens in a while, my 20D is having problems and I have not got around to getting it fixed. I plan too get it fixed sooner or later, just preoccupied I guess.
