May upset some of you.

They don't so much annoy me as amuse me. You just can't take it too seriously. They take the mickey out of themselves as much as everyone else. Get upset about it? Not worth it.
 
i actually enjoyed seeing Eric Kim at work here. Charming, smiling, great interaction with his subjects. Not sure what rubbed you the wrong way.
 
Dont get me wrong, I envy his passion and drive but he just comes off as rude to me. Maybe I am over-critical or perhaps jealous.
 
I'm not sure anyone would be upset by this...I happen to think digitalrev is great for what it is. They have fun and don't take themselves too seriously.

I think it's good for their audience--mostly folks who wouldn't normally consider film--to see people still using film.
 
I loved it, Eric was very upfront but quite a few times he managed to get his subjects to follow his directions rather than run away. Not really my style of street photography though. Very funny how un-stealth they were with costumes and it worked in their favour.

I don't think the photos were very good though 😛
 
It was fun , educational , shows how to interact with people , and they both look like they are having fun themselves as well. I love it.
 
I actually found it funny this time. It would be really annoying if a bunch of people go out and shoot like that, but the video itself is pretty entertaining.

As for the interaction, I think a lot of people are afraid to interact because they haven't had much experience. Once you start doing it, it becomes very natural.
 
I'm normally turned off by most of their content, but their AnalogRev material is actually really where they (esp. Kai) seem more entertaining and engaging. This was a very good episode.
 
I didn't find it annoying. I mean, their approach isn't exactly unique or bewildering their subjects, but they're nice enough and obviously are very non-threatening, so it works in their favour and manage to get the shots they want. I didn't care much for 99% of the photos, but it's only one day of shooting. The only thing that bugged me was how much they talked about their gear and the speed of their gibbering made them sound like they're on speed. The costume idea was great and completely changed the way the photos came out -I wish they showed more of that kind of stuff. I'm only jealous because if that was me shooting, I would be confronted a lot more and get more negative reactions because I look more like a little punk that's gonna rob them than a couple of decently dressed science geeks.
 
I'm not familliar with other DigitalRev content, but I have to say that even though it was goofy at times, and some times Eric Kim might have looked a bit pushy to the people he photographed, they managed to pull it off with a very nice positive wibe. Much of that kind of thing is usually put down and drowned in all too common negativity.
 
I'm not a fan of digitalrev. Maybe it's his annoying fake British accent or something. Before you guys start bashing, I'm half Chinese. Just setting my people back 🙂
 
Maybe I'm weird (I am) - but I thought it was great. Fun. Shots were really good. What's wrong with having fun making photos with old cameras?

It might be easier to discuss if you just came out and said what bothers you about it.
