Maybe the thing I do best is restore old camera things.

I stripped apart and rebuilt a rattly Nikon sports prism viewfinder this morning and didn't drop any screws and didn't damage anything.

All done before lunch.

Now it works perfectly.

I'll share this as it's mostly on topic.
One cool trick I use for keeping track of screws..

Get an old magnetic car door sign for your work surface.
I have one that is about 1/2meter square flipped over so grayish/black side is up on my work table.
When little screws come off they stick to the magnetic surface. It's not a super strong magnet. Just enough to do the job.
Other things will stick to it as well. It's a handy way to keep small pieces and tools from rolling around and getting lost.

So there 😀

Andy! That's a heck of an idea...I've just so happen to have a large piece of magnetic plate lying around (for sticking different military markings on my jeep).

Don't know how many times I've fed the carpet monster with model aircraft parts and camera pieces 😉

Recently I overhauled a Synchro 300 shutter on a Kodak Signet by taking it out of the housing and cleaning it in boiling water.
A week later I repaired the frame-lock mechanism on a Welta Weltini II.

I love fixing simple cameras....But I've got a Zorki I in pieces that needs new curtains and I'm reluctant to strip it down too much. I've killed one before. I'm afraid I'd kill it this one too. (and I'm not even talking about touching one of my Leicas)

Genius!
Thanks, Andy.

Really what we need is a cheap quantum magnetic field that can suspend disassembled pieces in mid-air.

Thanks for the tip..I was using a mousemat to work off, works for screws but not for ballbearings! Just binned another Tessar but getting better..😀 A long way to go before I'll attempt another Electro (Yashica),don't want to damage a noble old Rangefinder...Can anyone recommend a good maker for Jewelers screwdrivers? has it got to be Swiss & expensive? Thanks again for the magnet idea, it is a cracker.
