maybe to close to home...but, why do we hang out on RFF?

while I like the atmospheare of RFF, IMHO there is less discussion and knowledgeable people about Barnack Leicas, old Contaxes, FSU gear for example. Guess old film gear and photography in general. But dont want to sound like am criticizing, its my main site for camera news and discussion + checking what friends are doing :)
 
I like it here, there is discussion about photography that is beyond marketing material and whatever "pro-tip" that's in vogue at the time.

Ha! Love it. This stuff is a hobby to me that I don't have near enough time for as I would like. But I can show up here occasionally and ramble profusely about my cheap, junk equipment, show off my treasured artwork (that totally sucks) and someone says, "Hey! Good to see ya!" or "Nice shooter!" or "Like that shot." Constructive criticism is available as well as tech assistance ... and it's all good because they're havin' the same fun I'm havin' with whatever it is we're doin'.

That, and the vast amount of great shots, technical info, nice-to-know stuff, etc!
 
There are a number of reasons I hang out here but at the top of the list is the ability to tap into such a vast amount of know how and experience in one place. For me in particular, the whole B/W process is new territory I probably would not have ventured into had I not stumbled across this site. I am continually amazed by the images posted here and really enjoy looking through the galleries. Some truly fantastic photographers here.
