You can find manuals for cameras at:

Sometimes repair manuals can be located on the internet by doing a search. That is what I have always done.

Look in a book store? If you search for "camera repair" at Amazon.com online you will find many dozens of books about camera repair, some very specific on certain brands. Some expensive too, but often used copies are available.

Also, look at bookstores local to you, perhaps Steele's Book Store, Calle Baruta, Cruce con Calle Casanova, Edif. María Auxiliadora, PB, Local B, Bello Monte, Caracas, Venezuela, Phone (0212)951.1615
or Tecni-Ciencia Libros with 10 locations in the Caracas area. tel, info: 0212 264 1765
And, a public library might have some camera repair books that you can borrow.

Try this site for tools and repair books http://www.micro-tools.com/store/home.aspx You may also want to look into getting a weatherized or waterproof camera. There are a few good ruggedized ones on the market now too.

Usually, you can do an Internet search on whatever specific camera you are wanting to repair, and you should find some links. Here is a forum that may have some answers for you, as they have a searchable database of articles on many cameras and lenses. http://www.kyphoto.com/cgi-bin/forum/discus.cgi?pg=topics
