mechanical mf rangefinders?

Since getting back my first roll of 6x6, I have gone ga-ga for the medium format.

I am considering picking up an all-mechanical (a meter is OK), MF rangefinder sometime later this year/early next year.

I was looking at some older fujis and I have been doing some limited research but I seem to be running in circles sometimes. Any suggestions?

-all mechanical
-no folder, no tlr, more like a 35mm RF design
-lever advance
-preferably 6x6, not required though
-preferably interchangeable lenses but will take fixed lens suggestions too.

What about a Polaroid 600 or 600SE or the Mamiyas 23, Press, etc.
They are not a kind of MF APS :) ... formats from 6x7 over 6x9 till
8x10 (on Pola films).

The 600 (I have one) has a fixed lens with 127mm the others have
changeable lenses. All these cameras are a lot cheaper than the
Mamiya 6 or 7s.

Graflex XL, several Linhofs, Koni-Omega. None of them 6x6 but 6x7 is more use anyway. And the Pola 600 with RF backs -- I have 75 and 127 lenses for mine, and 6x7 and 6x9 backs.

Or omit the RF, mortgage your house and buy an Alpa. Terrifyingly expensive but when you use one you'll see why.

Maybe a Plaubel MAKINA 67 or 670.

I had one and I sold it, stupidest thing I have done in my whole life :bang:

The 80mm Nikkor lens is as sharp as they get and fast to boot (f2.8), the rangefinder is fast and accurate, and the camera is really small for a 6x7, what more could you ask for?

There is one on e-bay now: search for item 7536560795, up to $1300 it's a good buy.

Oh and there is a W67 version with a wide angle 55 mm f4.5 Nikkor, but good luck in finding one, and they go for silly prices.

I think I'll try to get one myself, as soon as I recover from the shock of spending £1990 on an epson rd-1.
 
Koni-Omega is capable of producing super negatives but it is somewhat of a heavyweight. Built like a tank and you can get 220 or 120 film magazines. I think the Mamiya Press is a little lighter but command higher prices than the Koni.
