Here are some snaps I took the other weekend when my big sister was graduating from Albany Medical College. We're very proud of her, and we all had a nice weekend. I had my Fuji X100, and my Pentax K-5 along for the ride, so I thought I'd share some of the images. I'm finding that the Fuji compliments the K-5 perfectly. They're both such amazing little image making machines. I am a previous Nikon D700 owner, AND 5D Mark II owner, and I can honestly say I think the pictures out of these two cameras are better than anything I ever did with those full frame cameras. The lenses are just better, the cameras are smaller, the shutters and quieter, and I make better pictures with them.

Hope you enjoy!

That last family picture was set up on the trunk of a car using the push on cap to prop up the lens and the self timer. I processed it in silver efex and I must say it brings me a lot of joy to have such a nice family. Thats me on the right with my girlfriend.

The X100 was surprisingly well received by my untechy Mom, who instantly grasped the cameras features because as she said, it reminded her of her Yashica Electro which was stolen back in the 70s. Amazing in my opinion.

Nice pics! These things really are family affairs but they can also be quite wearing. One of my kids graduated with an SM degree from a local university just over a week ago and I left the house at 7am and didn't get back until after 6pm! 7147 degrees were awarded that day and I was knackered at the end. Then it was out to celebrate in a nice restaurant. She's going down to NJ to get a PhD and will be finished her education when she's 31.

As a parent I've found it much more rewarding to see my kids excel than to slog through university myself. I do understand your pride and send my congratulations to your sister.
