question to all the medium format scanners with a nikon 9000. How many of you use the provided film stickers that nikon sent you? I have never put any on and can't fathom the reason for them. It seems like UV filters on a camera🙂 for those that do use them, do you see any benefit from them.
also, for you scanners, trying to find your negatives in the preview, especially the 6x9 size can be a pain. I sent an email to ed hamrick of vuescan fame mentioning two solutions to this problem. One, use the coarse motors of the scanner to make a full preview like a v700/v500 allowing the users to select the whole frame. If this proves infertile, I suggested a moving bar as a preview to show the displacement expected from using the offset frame slider allowing you to precisely position the frame in the preview window without the tedious iterative process that it is currently.
I was just wondering if the markers helped the scanner find the frames or if they were irrelevant.
thanks
