still working on my first rolls through them...will post something when the film is processed!

the 35/2.8 arrived today along with the 135/2.8, both in great shape, smooth operation...love the feel of the 35!

so i am near complete...28/35/58/135/200...

i don't plan on expanding the kit with any other bodies...at least not at this time...as time/money permits i want to add a few more lenses...right now, the black body and the 35 will likely be my go to combo for when that film feeling hits me!

I'd loan you mine for the cost of shipping but it hasn't been used in quite a long time and I'd hate to see it waste your film.
I don't understand the 35mm lens mindset I guess as I really love the 58. Maybe it's because I've never shot 35????🙄

probably big and expensive?

the 58/14 is no slouch!

the 58/1.2 is not that big, or that heavy for that matter. it is dense, and at least the early scalloped rings ones are VERY well built lenses. Certainly better than their contemporary cameras.

price is not unreasonable. it's 350-500 for one at forum classified price depending on vintage, condition, and whether someone has converted it to Canon. about right for a high end lens from a dead system (though obviously short of specialty/rare lenses like OM super teles or Noct-Nikkors).

it is a good lens, but I didnt use mine much after I got a Leica because of the bodies. if I shot much color, I suspect I would have kept it. I always loved what it did with Portra:

soon...one of the beauties of digital is that after an afternoon of shooting i can come home and process what i shot...even if it was only 6 shots!

with film, i need to finish the roll or waste some money...

You've been away from film too long Joe. Film is the least expensive part of film photography. That said, a roll of film certainly isn't cheap these days, and I tend to do the same as you. Something to do with being the son of parents who survived the great depression, and some of my Scotch ancestry has crept in I suppost. 😛

Hope to see the results of your photo taking with them as well.

EDIT: FWIW, I didn't find the SRT 101 to be any great shakes. It came from the era of big heavy SLR workhorses.
