You can avoid the pixels entirely by upsizing with a app like Genuine Fractals.

Of course the grain will still be there, just as though you were printing wet. Think of GF like the old Kodak internegatives.

I drank the digital koolaid as soon rangefinders went digital but I keep forgetting about "genuine fractals." Thanks for the reminder 😀

I can't really say that this, pixel count, keeps me awake at night.

Quasi-Random thoughts:
12MP printed at 14x21" is 192PPI. If that looks nice to you, that's all you need.
It didn't look that good to me, so I got 36 million pixels.
Now, the inherent fuzziness of 192 PPI is gone...but I can make them fuzzy if I want.
I've seen 8x10" contact prints: basically, infinite megapixels.
A look that can't be duplicated by my Epson at 360 PPI.
Not going to happen.
Recently, I got a Fujifilm with 16MP. 14x21s look pretty nice.
