Hugivza and I met on Thursday. I was so wrapped in meeting someone who speaks the same language (my camera club is largely a dead loss) I think we should set up another meeting.

I'm having inspiration...

Beer, wine, maybe new Belgian beer cafe in the base of Eureka tower, before Xmas, lots of fondling - sorry serious camera action - sorry picture opportunities. Tram trip out to Collingwood to see exhibition at Leica gallery.

Any takers?

James

Hi James,

I'd love to meet some fellow RFFers. I worked on Smith Street up until a few years ago. I think I know the gallery you mentioned. It's a busy time of year with work and family but count me in. Also, the Aussies on the APUG Forum are planning a get together in January if you're interested.
Sorry, I am not sure how to make this a link but try this thread. http://www.apug.org/forums/showthread.php?t=21927&goto=newpost

Cheers,

Lou

That'll be the one.

We'll have to leave this for a week or so (and periodically add inane comments to bring it back into the top 10 :) so that some people get to read it.
What's APUG like?

James

Hi James,

I think APUG is a treasure but it depends on your interests. I am interested in medium and large format and wet darkroom work and have found it very helpful. There are some very talented people on that site. Very much like this one.

Take care,

Lou

HI James and Lou

I'd love to down a fine beer or two and make the acquaintance of more Melb RFFers, but I'm kinda tied up with our 8 week old baby at the moment. None the less - let me know what you're planning and I'll see if i can make it!

Holy shigmilligans. Congratulations. Have you worn out any cameras yet?

Perhaps you'd better give us a set of times that are likely to be reasonable for you.

James

Hi John,

Congratulations! Yes, I am happy to try and fit in with a time and place that suits you John. Is it a boy or girl? My two sons are in their twenties but I have two teenage stepdaughters. You know you're alive with them at home!

Lou

Hi guys,

I'm coming over to Melbourne sometime in January for a few days. As usual (for me) travel arrangements are extremely sketchy at the moment ;) I'll let you know if I have any free time while I'm over there.

HI gents

thanks for your kind congratulations. I''m all over the place a the moment with our little boy Benjamin, so I'd say go ahead and organise what suits you, and if things are going well on the day I'll try to meet you.

A January meet also sounds like a great plan if Simon make it over the border...

In regard to wearing out a camera - well only one roll Kodak Porta 800 ASA with a Bessa R3a and Minolta 40/2 or 90/4 so far, because of the evils of digital camera but I'm trying to work out how to post a couple of them here - can't seem to scan it too well....

in the meantime the digi shots are here:

So let me know what you decide and I hope to meet up..

Coulda done without the bath shot :)

Back on topic. How about this Saturday, we could meet in the cafe in Fed Sq. at say ... Midday?

James (non-beer intolerant. Maybe I should bite someone)

Count me in - I will be in Sydney after this weekend - Saturday lunchtime at Fed Square sounds good to me. James email me or phone me, or alternatively I will also check out the site.

OK, before you all flood this thread with replies...

I'll definately be there. You'll recognise me by the big black SLR (shock'n'awful). If anybody wants my mobile number send me email. I shall try to be conspicuous. Fed Sq. Cafe at midday, Saturday. see ya.

James

Hi Fellas,

Unfortunately this Saturday is out for me. Maybe January when Simon is in town. Have a great time and all the best for the holidays.

Lou

yeah,I'm going to have to wait til January too - still haven't bought my wife a Christmas present....heh ...I could buy her a rangefinder somewhere in the city..!

Mmmnn maybe not. Have a great day and I hope to meet in Jan.

Oh well, if any lurkers feel like turning up, look for two not so young guys yapping about cameras :)

Simon, let us know your travel plans for January when you know and we'll try again next month.

James (still recovering from the 'Living End' thing in Fed Sq yesterday).

Hey guys (& any Gals!?) :D

Just picked up on this thread. I too have a new baby, 10 weeks old, but will make an outside effort to meet if circumstances permit.

See pic of my beautiful baby attached! :)

I will be wearing a Billingham Kahki bag and sporting a RF. :D

Will look forward to January meet as well, as long as it is before Jan 25.
