I'm not much of a Kölsch drinker (having lived in Bonn for seven years), but actually some Kölschs are pretty decent. Seeing that you are in Köln anyway, you should check out some of the brewery pubs of the smaller brands, such as Peters near Alter Markt or Malzmühle in the Südstadt. The last one produces a beer (Mühlen-Kölsch) which I liked quite a lot.
I'll be in Bonn by the end of February for a week or so (don't know the exact dates yet). If you're around, we can go for a beer in Köln somewhere. Maybe some of the other RFFers in the area would join in?
