Yesterday I went to a photo exhibition with international gallerys. DFOTO in the city of Donostia-San Sebastian. You can see the web here http://www.coff.es/en/dfoto06/

The prints prices were VERY HIGH (from 1000 to 40000 euros aprox) and I didn´t like most of them the way I like some photos here in RFF. Of course they were modern fine art, and I saw some nice pictures, but definitely, I´m not a rich collector.

In RFF galleries I see wonderful photos, and sometimes I wonder if the autor would sell me a print. Maybe it would be easier (I´m too shy to ask, and maybe others too) if the price were indicated in the gallery without asking it.

Of course I´m not thinking in selling anything, I´m just an amateur and buyer, not seller. 😀

I am sure most people here would be honored just to be asked if they would sell thier work, we are all amateurs in that respect I guess.

Just asking seems better than including it as an RFF feature to me, this site is a big family rather than a purely commercial site right? 🙂

I was proposed to show my works related with the theme of the Interceltic Festival of Lorient (in Brittany, France) where I was present in 2005. The exhibition will take place in june 2006 in the french bar of the city of Ceske Budejovice in Czech Republic (Southern Bohemia), I should be exposing between 14 and 18 large format photos and I might even put them on sale. I'm just so impressed and feel honored to have been chosen! 😀

Don't be afraid to ask, some people would eventually even offer you a wet print just for the shipping costs! 🙂

What darkkavenger said! I would be thrilled if someone asked me for a print and would only ask for the cost of printing, mailing plus a token fee of $20. 😉

Hi, Iñaki,

interesting issue you raise here. Personally, I do sell, and have sold, wet prints. While I would personally consider it in bad taste to attach price tags to the snapshots in my RFF gallery, I have made prints of them for other RFF members, usually in exchange for a print of their own. There's at least one photo in your gallery I'd like to have a print of, so if you see anything you like in mine, feel free to write.

Thats right, everything is for sale and for a limited time $20.00 bucks US! That's right! Only $20.00 dollars!!! (plus shipping and handling)

One day when I get really full of my self I make allot of prints for an arts and crafts show or something.

Hoot, I will proudly send you a print (or more), just tell me wich one would you like. I like some of your photos, so tomorrow I´ll tell you wich one I like most (my wife must see them, because It will be hangin on our home) 😀

No; paying for a print is a valid idea. But a print exchange is friendlier. 🙂

Just sign up for the Print Swap. One is going on right now. I have some galley quality prints on my walls right now from the past swaps.

Of course it is, and I will continue paying for prints, but you all are right about my first idea. I will PM about your print, now I´m going to the lab to ask them for a copy.

Print swaps are great. Ive done many eith Rff'ers and others. But once in a while I will buy someone's photo if I really like it and its priced in my meager budget. Its always a nice ego boost when I get an email asking to buy one of my images. Though its only happened a few times. When it has, Ive sold prints, unmatted for $25 or $30.00.
