Memory Card Issue

Hi

I'm a new owner of R-D1s - I've used the camera to format the SD memory card, taken some test pictures, but when I put this card into my MAC or WIN7 PC's card reader adaptor whichever PC I use, it says it can't read the disk, or the disk format. Is this some kind of known issue? I can't find much about it when I google it. I'm probably doing something or missing something fundemental - just wondered if anyone ever faced the same problem, perhaps it is the SD card USB adaptor, but I would have thought these adaptors are faily universal, and it does work with other SD cards, i.e. from my Nikon. It seems to be something to do with the RD1s format possibly?

Unlikely - you have to dig back to pre SD days to find cameras that used a proprietary file system format. Sure you aren't running into SD/SDHC incompatibility issues? IIRC the R-D1 will only handle the former (up to 2GB) cards - if you insert a bigger (SDHC) card it might do weird things with it.

Never seen this in seven years use with Macs. I would try another SD card and if it does not work, another card reader.

Hopefully it is just my card reader adaptor. Heading to buy new one!

As long as the R-D1 can access the card and you can view back the images on the display I doubt the problem is with the card.
