Just bought a Olympus Tough 6000 and a 8GB micro SD to go with it. I have a problem however - only 1/3 of the time does the camera even recognize the card in the camera. Maybe thats why the card was only $40.. I put my 2GB card in from my phone, and formatted it, and it shows up every single time. What should I do about this?

I have read that micro SD cards over 2gb are micro SDHC cards. Maybe the camera can't use micro SDHC cards? I had a problem with an old card reader not reading a new SDHC card but a newer reader I had did.

Bob, the camera handles SDHC. I exchanged the card for a 4GB SanDisk, and it's working perfectly now. Another plus of the camera - put it on P, set the ISO to 400, and it makes a great, tiny lightmeter for my Leica, which can also take 'fun' pictures, that is, not artsy pics.

Glad you got your problems solved. I guess you get the odd card, even from brand name manufacturers, that can be glitchy. Luckily I have not had any problems in camera with any of the cards I have had brand name or no name. Touch wood on that. Enjoy that new lightmeter.

I think you've figured it out. If it always works with two other cards but won't work consistently with a third card, then it's likely a problem with the third card.
