Menopta 53/1.8 gallery

Hi,

I just received a Menopta 53/1.8. I tried it with my two Bessa. First with the R2A mounted with a Contax to Leica Adapter and the second with the R2S.
The seller wrote me that the lens was made for Contax RF. This is why I tried it with my Contax to Leica adapter. But finally I think, looking at the results...the R2S pics are much better. All my tests where simple...I mounted the lens and shot around. I didn't modify anything on the lens or on the cameras.

very nice photos - it seems that menopta fites very well on your bessa. Ousmane Sow scupture looks very sharp on 1.8. cant wait to see more photos. btw how do you like r2s?

The Menopta is a nice lens overall. I have it for my Contax. It ismy only lens for the Contax.

Nzeeman : I prefer R2S than the R2A. For me the viewfinder is better when I use a 50mm and the shutter is quieter...

It may have a bad spacer between the front and rear groups so its focal length is closer to the Nikon standard, rather than the Contax, someone has Sweenified it for you...
