For some reason it is all too easy for humans to take their life for granted
- without appreciation, without wonderment, without thankfulness.

Like the song says, we don't appreciate what we have until it is gone.

This time of year is better than most to appreciate your life, your loved ones, the paths you took, the paths you did not take, what you have, and even what you don't have.

Whatever your failings or mistakes, be kind to yourself and learn from your own errors
- instead of blaming yourself with recriminations as so many people do.

Take stock, learn from yourself, and make a better New Year!
