Well-known
I seem to be messing up big time on snapshooting.
For the 1st time in ages,I took the M8 to Sevenoaks to snap a few older buildings, having one heck of a time trying to keep the heavy traffic out of shot.
I had forgotten how tricky it can be to frame with a 50mm cropped to 67mm,not to mention returning to using a rangefinder after those digi-boxes.
It also seemed to overexpose fairy frequently, or was I wanting more ccontrast/saturation from the Helios? [I should have packed my amazing Fed collapsible]
..then I recalled that 'eMma8' is much happier in monochrome...
At the Greenwhich Tall Ships Festival I took the Sony A35 with 35mm and trusty Minolta 35-80 which stretches to a nom 120 with crop factor.
The handy NX 1000 being back up.
The pics were fine, that cheapo Minolta standard from 1997 still contrasty and
sharp...
EXCEPT...
1] I neglected to take care of potential camera shake, even at modest 120mm equiv telephoto.
2] i did not pre check the cleanliness of the sensors on BOTH cameras, so had to clean up quite a few snaps from both cameras-though rigging on some shots prevented this reparatory interference.
Luckily clear blue skies made this comparatively easy with the basic I-photo tool. [ I don't do complcated ]
This does not seem so much as losing my touch, but a breakdown in basic ability since retirement and daily access to London Town during the working day,
I did save many acceptable photos, so these rare trips were not wasted, but it seems so easy to lapse into a comparative inertia, I even messed up at the return of Biggin Hill airshow by trying to use the A35 with it's EVF to shoot planes in the sky...it just does not work for me.
