Metering long exposure times??

Does anyone know if the mamiya 7 will meter correctly for exposure times >4s? For example, say I use a neutral density filter and adjust the exposure using the adjustment knob or adjusting the film speed dial and correct exposure is >4s will the camera meter correctly? I would not want to meter and then manually adjust as the display will only give the metering to full stops while AE will adjust continuously.

I hope you guys get what I am saying

It depends on whether you stay in the range of the meter. If this is a fairly normal situation in terms of light, it should.

The M7ii meters the light from the rangefinder not through the lens. You need to make adjustments manually for filters. I suggest a good handheld meter for long exposures or any critical exposures.

I would use the film speed adjustment or exposure adjustment knob to adjust for the filter. The viewfinder only displays up to 4s in full stop jumps but the AE should meter and adjust continously, though I do not know the range it is effective at....

Exposure times >1 sec. are not displayed in the viewfinder. The next indication in the viewfinder is LT (which blinks slowly for 2 sec. exposure, blinks rapidly for 4 sec. exposure, then steady when exposure times for your scene are greater than 4 sec.) Anything after that is not known in terms of exposure times. I usually guess when I don't have a separate meter (then add a stop or more for reciprocity and/or being off by that much). Since the camera is aperture priority, you cannot know for sure what times greater than 1 sec. the camera is using.

I've used two ND-4 filters on my M7II for times of up to 4 min. with Fuji Acros, handheld meter for accuracy and a cable release.
