metering with 43mm

Hi all (1st post here)

I am aware that the metering on the M7II practically becomes a spot with the 43mm. Has anyone had difficulty with exposure while using that lens? Can the camera metering be trusted with the 43mm? I'll be shooting slides...

You are right it works as a spot with the 43mm. So as long as you use it as a spot ... either on your palm opened up 1 stop, or meter against a spot of grass/sky/etc of medium tone, you'll be fine. No need for an external meter if you know how to use it right. cheers

Well, it doesn't really become a spot. The meter doesn't change from one lens to the next.

If you meter while you focus through the normal finder (yes I know not much focussing on a 43mm) then you'll be using the same meter area for all your lenses because the finder magnification doesn't change, only the frame lines.

Well, I believe the question is when using the camera in AE-mode somewhere you really don´t have that much time, so you don´t use the normal finder, and you really have to think where to meter, and behold, the meter is actually like a spot meter.
