In the available light Rangefinder world there's the odd time an extra splash of light would come in handy - not too much, don't want to flood the scene and loose the feeling. Trouble is, for the right amount of adjustableness (?) seems you have to go for a bulky flash unit. For me, part of RF lore is about non-bulk, and I know Flash talk is blasphemous to some.

Here's an Interesting new flash from Metz. Small size, lots of manual adjustableness, flip down leg attaches to tripod mount. There's a plethora of features for the digital cam world, but on a manual film camera this unit doesn't seem to bad.

There are drawbacks, but at 75.5 X 83 X 32.5mm (w, h, d) you'd expect some.

Guide Number at ISO 100 is 22.
Auto mode with 8 aperture settings.
Manual with 4 partial light output levels.

Price around 130 euros.

Haven't actually seen one yet, and although they've categorised it with other slave units there's no mention of cable attachment.
