I picked up a Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 50mm 2.8 in m42 mount somewhere about a year ago and kind of forgot about it -- the lens was stuck wide-open, which is a common problem as oil migrates from the helicoid and gums up the works.
Finally got around to taking it apart, cleaned off the gunk and reassembled the blades, checked that the aperture closed and opened freely by pushing in the little lever on the side of the aperture mechanism, reassembled everything and ... nothing.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how the actuation pin on the rear of the lens engages with the lever that opens and closes the aperture. I've scoured the web for clues in take-apart videos and articles, none of which show very clear views of the engaging mechanism, which I am now suspecting is missing some element -- can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

I never owned the Domiplan lens or worked on one, I was more of a Zeiss Tessar guy and in the 1970s the Praktica owners I knew had always complained about the mechanical build quality of the Hugo Meyer Domiplan lens and I avoided that lens.
Here is a video that you might already know about concerning that lens.

Thanks, that's the video I referenced when originally taking apart the lens. Sadly, the author describes the "neat" aperture pin mechanism but doesn't actually show it in close-up so I could see what's different about mine.

Maybe this guy's photos of the Domiplan lens dis-assembly can be useful to you.

Ha ha, thanks, I stared at his shots for a long time, too. Maybe I need to do so a little longer.
