I've been a little frustrated lately with my Bronica GS-1 system when I've tried to get in close. I originally stayed away from the Mamiya 6 and 7 because of this limitation as well.

Do you know of any MF systems that have lenses to get in close with? To give a point of reference, something like filling the frame with the eyes, nose, and mouth of a person.. not macro necessarily, but getting in there tight. It's something I haven't been able to do since I had the ol' Nikon SLR, but I love medium format.

Thanks!

"tubes" are close-up equipments that go between your lens and the camera body and extend the length to the film plane and allow you to get much close to your subject. I use them on both my Mamiya Pro 645 and my Canon DSLR set-ups. Extension tubes can convert almost any lens into a pseudo Macro lens. The question of course is - is there an extension tube for your specific camera?!

Just a hollow tube ("Extension Tube") with lens mount on one end and body mount on the other, may also convey mechanical actuation of the lens diaphragm by the body. These come in various lengths, often individually or as a set of three lengths for instance. Only purpose is to extend the lens further from the body for closer focus.

Well heck, that sounds a lot easier than getting a whole new camera system! Thanks for the tip.. I see KEH has one for the GS-1. Off to do some more research about them. Thank you!
