Well, I spoke too soon about everything being good on the newly arrived MG-1. I loaded it up this morning and found out that the film counter was not indexing. I removed the top plate and found that the spring for the lever that actually indexes the counter disk was unhooked. I got it out and tried to hook it right way around and you guessed it, ZING! away it flew! :bang:
After crying a little, I looked around for something to use and took a ball point pen spring and cut the bottom couple of coils off. I bent out two ends, placed the coil over the post, hooked the two ends down and IT WORKED!
Am I lucky or what?
Mike

Once you put the spring in place, put a dot of fingernail polish at each hook end. It will keep it from coming off again. It is a known problem, if the camera gets bumped at that side.
Thanks g-man! I've already buttoned her up, but if I have to get into her again I WILL use that little tip!
