Microsoft is finally dumping the Surface RT's at blowout prices. The suckers who bought just yesterday paid $379 from the same vendor.

At this price, it's a steal, practically disposable. Netflix is free, Skype, and a bunch of photo apps can be downloaded. Also, it has a USB port for importing camera files.

They throw in a $100 keyboard. I bought one, even though I'm a die-hard Mac user. At this price, I'll give it to my kids to watch Netflix and games. I just wanted to fool around with one.

was looking for a tablet alternative ever since I dropped my iPad and smashed it. I might bite. Does anyone except Boris know how this compare to the iPad?

I'm not a product reviewer, sport. Just mentioning a good deal.

If you're Google-challenged, you should just get another iPad and smash that one too.

Boris,
Thanks for posting this. My wife wanted one of these and I was able to get in on it before they sold out

Save your money. It's a horrible device.
Many of my friends at MS can't stand it.
I trained on one just for product knowledge to help clients who bought them.... baaah!
Last winter in Seattle there were tons in CL.
All from MS employees re-selling thier annual bonus Surface giveaway !

I have the Surface Pro. Great 'laptop'. Makes a decent tablet as well with full functionality (like a USB port). What I like best is it boots in 10 seconds. I don't know if I could go back to a normal laptop, I keep touching the screen :).

I don't think the RT version was ever going to survive with the Pro just a couple of hundred bucks dearer. Though I know that those that have them seem to be happy.

BTW, I also did share an iPad with my partner. Now no need and I don't have to buy any extra connectors just to load stuff on it.
