i am just tried all buttons on my new-bought M6 TTL. However, I found two problems.
1. when it's at a low shutter speed for instance 1/2 sec, the shutter releasing sound is very strange, like some gears grinding. It lasts quite long after you release shutter. At high speed, no such problem.
2. the 'Frame preselector' stick can not engage at certain frame. When I pull the stick, I can see the frame change. But when I stop pulling, the stick will flip back. I really can not understand...

Those are both normal behaviors. The shutter speeds from 1/15 and below have their own peculiar sound. The frame pre-selector only lets you pre-visualize the scene with a different focal length as long as you push the selector stick. When you let go, it returns to the frame size of the currently mounted lens.

That's all as it's supposed to be. 1) The shutter sound in normal. 2) Attach a Leica lens to the camera and the correct frame line will appear. The lever is only for pre visualisation of the field of view of alternative lenses.

At higher speeds ~ less than 1/50 of a second (the X synch speed) on M Leicas ~ the exposure is controlled by the width of the slit between the two curtains. At slower speeds there's a clockwork mechanism that controls the time from when the first curtain moves to uncover the film and the second curtain starts moving to cover it up again. That mechanism makes the bzzzzzt sound. Don't worry. A bomb isn't about to go off.
