Military Super Speed Graphic

I just received this Super Speed Graphic today. I bought without really knowing it, but it is a supposedly rare Military issue - Model KE12(2). I am very pleased - the camera and lens are in great condition, except that the mirror has fallen off the RF and I am not sure that the fast speeds (750 and 1000) are accurate. Everything else looks great - the electronic shutter even works.

So in the last month I ended up with both a Super Graphic and a Super Speed - time to hit the classifieds!

Anyone know who I should send it to for the RF repair?

Nice looking camera. Anybody know what the KE stood for in the nomenclature?

it means Camera (K), Still Picture (E). The earlier KE-12(1) seems to have been a green Speed Graphic. It looks like both were for the Army Signal Corp.

Call Fred Lustig in Reno, NV. 775-746-0111 No email. He has the largest stock of NEW Graflex parts in the country and is the premier Graflex repair person in the country. He had some health problems in the past, and you'll probably have to talk to his wife. Totally reliable, and you should get a fast return. If I were you, I'd get a full CLA while you have this opportunity and he has the camera on his workbench.

Thanks. Reading that brought back memories. As I recall, the Army Signal Corps was the proponent for all photographic equipment, even though other MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) might have need for them and have them as part of their TO&E (Table of Organization & Equipment). The TO&E was their authority to have personnel and equipment in the TO&E. As I said, memories. 😛
