Four years ago, I took my (now retired) Panasonic DMC-TZ3 up on Mill Mountain for some fall color shots. I didn’t see much color, as it was really late coming on that year, so I just went for composition instead. I got a real nice pano of the valley, and even a shot of where I used to work repairing signal system components for Norfolk Southern until they decided to outsource our jobs.
Mill Mountain is home to the famous Roanoke Star, a zoo, a park, a visitor center, and a couple of observation decks where one can look out over the valley.
