Mine arrived

I think the OP is just pulling our collective legs..... there's been no sample shots for frost-bitten-kitties or scowling spouse once they learn how much you’ve spent or dead flowers and wine bottles for that matter.

It’s not 12/12/2012 yet so let’s just all go back to our regularly scheduled work and stop drooling….battery charging issues, ha. A really early adopter would have purchased an extra battery and charger from elsewhere and had it and a fresh new SD card at the ready.

Sadly son was not able to loose my GX100 at the plant pathology lab over the weekend so it looks as if I will not be getting an X100 any time soon, ugh.

Hi Andy,

I am pleased to inform you that your Fuji X100 has shipped today and should be with you tomorrow.

I have received the below email from our Fuji UK sales manager and would like to pass this on to you.

As you will see Fuji are setting up a Platinum Service for X100 customers and to offer you this service we need you NOT to register your camera when it arrives with you tomorrow. We have noted your camera serials today and will enrol your purchase with Fuji UK as soon as this system is up and running. By doing so you will benefit from the below points mentioned.

If you have any questions please get in touch.

==============================================

Hi All,

You like I will be extremely pleased at the initial consumer response to the FinePix X100 and I am sending this mail to confirm our support to UK Retail Approved Stockists.
I can also confirm that initial stock allocations have been made with further stock deliveries being anticipated for the third week in March.

As part of the support package we are developing a registration section upon our website which will only be accessible by UK Retail Approved Stockists and detail will follow shortly. Upon this registration section you will be able to qualify the consumer for Platinum Service.

Should you supply a camera this week you need to ensure that the consumer does not register with Fujifilm but enables you to do this on their behalf.

Registration for Platinum Service will offer a range of customer benefits including but not limited to these outlined below:-

1. Dedicated telephone hotline.
2. Dedicated e-mail contact address with one hour response time (within working hours 09:00 - 17:00hrs Monday to Friday).
3. Supply of specific mailer box should camera need to be returned to Fujifilm.
4. 48hr repair service.
5. Repair whilst you wait booking service to allow customer to bring camera into Fujifilm Bedford.
6. In extenuating circumstances a loan camera may be supplied whilst the repair is carried out.
7. Free camera health check after 11 months.

The consumer is unable to access the Platinum Service benefits unless you carry out the registration process.

Regards
Michael Helyer

Trust me, I'm not pulling anyone leg. Here it is, next to my morning juice. I did buy 3 spare batteries, but one exploded during charge so I returned them all. Replacements due this week, so I had to charge the battery. The NP-95 charger is appalling btw, doesn't tell you when the thing is charged.

Wow!!!
Fuji's actually rolled out a half decent support program for the camera!!!

That's very very impressive...

Exploded! Bloody hell - were they the official batteries or cheap knock-offs?

What has eveybody got against photo's of cats? Whenever I get a new camera it is one of our cats that is the first subject...

According to page ten of the manual the charger has an LED light that is on when the battery is charging and goes of when it's fully charged ... if it blinks it means the battery is faulty.

Well my battery was on charge all night and the LED is still on :) And yes, the one that exploded taking the charger with it was a cheap knock off. I'm now waiting for an official one.

Everyone in the office is asking if I develop my own film :) They all love it.

What Brand Was Faulty Battery?

What Brand Was Faulty Battery?

Would you be kind enough to let us know which brand of battery explodes?

JoeV, that's a little over the top. I've used third party batteries in my Canon DSLR's for 10 years and have never had a problem with one. Lighten up a little.

It was a 7DayShop third party that went pop. But I think it was just me being unlucky, I've never had any problems before.

and that came from a guy who calls himself "GSNfan" LOL
You can buy 20-something good GSNs at least, for the price of one x100 :p
so what does that make of a GSN? super-extremely-damn-incredible cheap?

... I would not say that the X100 costs "very little" ... It costs 3 times what I paid in total for a Leica IIIb, new covering and a Leitz lens (35mm or 50mm).

Order update from Robert White

Kind Regards

Edith: Must be the camera case.. well thats one piece of equipment Im not going to use.. Bummer.

Impressive list of services given that this is a $1200 camera.

The other manufacturers have a lot to learn from Fuji on customer service.
