Other Areas Minnesota/Wisconsin RF club?

OK, I am just testing the waters here. I doubt that there are many "Twin Cities area" members in this forum, so I'm thinking that given the rather close relationship between various Minnesotan and Wisconsin cities, I could give this a try.

Fall is virtually upon us and the colors will be fast approaching. Before "road construction" season ends, I thought some of us out there 🙂: hello? anybody? :🙂 could get together in this vast dairyland.

Any takers? There are many places we could meet, one of them being of course the Twin Cities area; the other Stillwater; Taylors Falls; or Menomonie, WI. Ideas/suggestions, are more than welcome, dontchakno?

I'm on the other side of the district.. more toward Milwaukee.. Stillwater is a 5 hour drive for me, so that wouldn't be very feasible for a day outting, altho I have relatives in the Twin Cities and go there about 4 times a year.. the last time was just 10 days ago, tho

I know there are at least 3 other guys in the Madison/Milwaukee area.. not sure who else is in the locale

i'm about an hour from Milwaukee in West Bend, Wisconsin. I'm up to travel no more than 5 hours anywhere to meet. I think it would be fun. Joe can bring some brat's from Sheboygan and we could cook out.

I'm in Port Washington (20 minutes south of Joe). My fall weekend schedule is tight to say the least but even if this fall doesn't work out for me, knowing we have some members in the area for a future get together is good. I'm sure I could learn a lot from a day of shooting with others.

ya know, La Crosse would be a pretty cool place for a photo safari.. that's a little over 3 hours from here.. landscape photos with the Mississippi, bluffs and fall colors would be outstanding.. then there is the downtown (3rd Street) area for people and nightlife

otherwise, I've always wanted to do a day of shooting in Milwaukee.. there's the Third Ward, the Art Museum, various parks, or take photos outside one of the opera houses at night.. many options there

I'm in the Milwaukee area. But my schedule is a little full at the moment until I get the kayak kit done. I could do something close by but not much more than that for the time being. I've got a membership to the Milwaukee Art Museum and there's a new exhibition of John Szarkowski opening on the 29th. Check it out at mam.org

...if there is any interest, I am in TC area and will travel to Stillwater, Hastings, Stockholm, etc. A road trip is always good for stirring a bit of creativity.

Wow Luke! I am not alone in this oasis!!! Ok, that's two in Minnesoh-tah.

OK, looks like all the loons are in the Milwaukee area. Brett -- your Milwaukee suggestion sounds really good; it'd be a blast.

I like the La Crosse idea better for an inter-Minnesotan/Wisconsinite get-together. I've been through there twice; never stopped except to get gas for the car nearby. I did see on my way over there the Spam Museum in Austin (didn't stop, just *saw* it from the road). But daylight is now getting in shorter supply, and shadows do seem to be very prominent; I do not know the area at all --- anybody volunteer to be a guide?

Hi All, I live in Osceola Wi., about 45 mi NE of the Twin Cities and would be up for a meet. I have been keeping my eyes on the color reports for northern WI as I would like to hit Superiors south shore and expose a few rolls on ol' Gitche Gummi.....

I have a hard time believeing this is all there is in the WI/MN area but of those that have already responded, it seems like we have a definite split here. Some members in E WI and some in E MN but not much in between. Travel towards MN is unlikely to fit in my schedule this fall but I'd be up for meeting the E WI members for a get-together. A late afternoon/early evening shoot in the Milwaukee area would work for sure. Weekends are tougher. Any interest?
