obviously the later in the day or evening means fewer photo ops.. but I'd be up for something in Milwaukee.. it would have to be after 5pm on weekdays.. my weekends are 'usually' open if we planned ahead.. also, if we met on a weekend, I'd be able to extend the distance to Madison

incidentally, I think Madison (particularly State St) offers tons of great street shots.. think 'college girls' and eccentric types that rival Hollyweird

My girlfriend knows Madison well; the only time I set foot there it was with her a year or so ago. That may be something to think about; lots of people shots. Daylight is already in short supply; the sun is setting by 7 already, and light is harsh. It's about a 5 hr. drive from Mpls/Stp, though.

if there was an economical train route between Milwaukee and the Twin Cities, I would be more than happy to take it.. that drive across Wisconsin gets a bit long.. I could easily see myself sitting back for the 5 hour trip with a good book and my iPod.. I wouldn't attempt a bus trip, tho.. with all the stops, it would take 12 hours

Hi All, I live in Osceola Wi., about 45 mi NE of the Twin Cities and would be up for a meet. I have been keeping my eyes on the color reports for northern WI as I would like to hit Superiors south shore and expose a few rolls on ol' Gitche Gummi.....

Johnny, I am betting that color extavaganza is coming sooner that later. I am jazzed. The Stillwater, Hastings, Stockholm trip would be a gas. Even just to shoot along the St. Croix between Taylors Falls and Stockholm or Hudson.

could have done that here today.. we got just enough to make everything look white.. I had to drive home very carefully since my summer wheels were still on the car.. a half hour in the garage swapping them out for the snow tires, and I'm good to go

so... what film would you recommend for snow shots? Velvia??

Good question, but I'm clueless. Maybe someone with more experience than me will weigh in on that. I'd like to hear some thoughts. Maybe some filter suggestions too.

I'd think it would be no different than what you prefer for any other landscape shooting. I'd personally be more inclined to a color negative film, like Reala CS, because of my limitited experiance shooting transparency, but that's just a personal preference.
