Found one in "E" condition from KEH. I'm hoping that for $268.00 plus shipping the "E" condition means I got a good lens that is good-to-go.

Anyone have this lens?

From what I gleaned: the 45/2.8 has 5 elements; isn't a Tessar nor Heliar; and has a cemented triplet. I like that it only has the distance scale in feet only, the old school chrome finish/build quality, and the small size. I expect delivery next week.

I thought about buying that very lens more than once. There isn't much info or too many samples out there, but the ones I saw suggested it can produce an interesting look. I'm curious to see what you get from it - please post samples.

I assume your referring to the Chiyoko, "SuperRokkor" 4.5cm,

Great little lens, I really liked the distance scale in feet, the large knurling is nice becuase this lens is very modest in its size.

Performance is good, some slight corner softness wide open, not incredibly prone to flare, and has a unique draw that plays well with color negative film. I'll try and see if I can find any shots using the lens.

I expect you'll enjoy it! If not, KEH won't mind taking it back 😉

I have 2 of the 4.5cm/2.8 Super Rokkors (1 is beat up & came w/a LTM body I wanted). Definitely has unique barrel design, but I never found it to be anything noteworthy. Not a bad lens, just nothing special & f/2.8 is pretty slow for most of my needs.

The info I glean is like in this thread, but basically for not a lot of money worth the gamble. I kinda expect soft corners wide open with good center sharpness like other vintage retro glass, also think mixed performance reviews might be due condition/haze. For example my 50 Rigid is kinda unusable because of haze, but I know its a great lens if CLA'ed.

Thanks for all the responses.

The one I bought is rated "E" by KEH.

I have a 4.5/2.8 Super Rokkor, it's OK... the bokeh goes from OK to a bit wild.
The 3.5cm Elmar lenshood is a perfect fit and makes for a compact set up.. the 5cm fison vignettes tough..
Sorry the last isn't rotated
