Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem with their minolta scanner (mine is a 5400 elite type I)...It works fine on my PC desktop computer, (I use the minolta software--I actually like it) and I've scanned tons of negatives with it. But then I decided to use it on my Mac laptop (OS X 10.4.2), so I installed the software, then plugged it in and gave it a shot. But the scans all come out with these horrendous horizontal lines everywhere--both on the preview scan and on the final scan.
It can't be a problem with the hardware, since it worked fine on the PC, right? Is there some software update I need to get? Any help is appreciated!

Hi Broadie,
Have you tried using VueScan on your Mac?

I use my old Minolta Scan Elite II on my iBook with VueScan and I have no issues. It's a bit better imho than the Minolta software that comes with the scanner.
Cheers

Vuescan fixed my flatbed Canon on OS Tiger nicely.

I may just try vuescan. Iwish I didnt have to pay for it though...I may try to have a few words with minolta about the issue before I buy it, but I don't have too high hopes for that being any help. Thanks for the recommendations.
