Is anyone running the Minolta scanner software on Mac OS 10.8 ?

No one is. It's not possible.

You will have to use Vuescan or run an operating system that can run Minolta scan software (Windows or MacOS <= 10.6) inside a virtual machine.

So, no, you can't run OEM Minolta scan software in 10.8.
