As referenced in a previous post, I got one of these. I've got it hooked up to a new iMac running VueScan via FireWire, and my scans are taking about half an hour per frame, with ICE off and grain dissolver on. I've been reading online that it can run full-resolution at 25 seconds a frame. What am I doing wrong here?

This scanner is very good. But it's not fast to begin with and with grain dissolver enabled it's VERY slow.

Is Vuescan set for multiple passes?

are you using USB ? make sure the usb is dedicated,
ie not connected to a hub. try it on different ports.

I have a 5400 and while its not the fastest it certainly doesn't take that long to scan.
I have mine hooked up to an iMac (intel) running Silverfast 6.6 and to produce a 12"x 8" @ 300 dpi 25mb scan takes around 3-4 mins
I would check for multi passes as j j says and try usb, maybe there is a firewire issue
