Minolta 7s

I bought both the C35 and the Canonet for 10$. The Canonet had gunky light seals as did the Konica, but they were both in perfect condition otherwise. Clean viewfinder and clean optics on both!

Now THAT'S a good deal!

I got lucky twice at garage sales (I'm talking about buying cameras) over the years. $20 for a Nikon FG slr with 50mm f1.8 Nikkor, and $10 for a Nikon F65with 28-80 AF Nikkor.

My journey with RF cameras has taken a route familiar to many of you: fixed lens RF cameras, -> Bessa R -> Leica (+ Contax, Nikon RF). Of the many, many fixed lens RF cameras I've owned, I've never had a Minolta 7s. Well, there is one available at a local second hand shop. It looks to be in great shape, it comes in its black leather case, it's priced reasonably, and while I was looking at it the shopkeeper told me the price was negotiable. I didn't have any $ in my pocket today, so I'll return tomorrow. It seems to be on par with the Konica S2 which is a camera that I have owned. Does anyone here have one?
I've owned a couple. The build quality is so-so -- do not count on the meter or auto mode, but it can (and should) be used fully manually. This camera does look good and the optics are excellent. You can get a good one on eBay for $30 or so. I am selling a Minolta 7s case in the classified section now if you need one.

Both the 7s and the C35 are great cams; in spite of the lack of manual capability on the Konica, I think I prefer it due to size and ergonomics. And the Auto Up for the C35 shows just what a good, good lens is on that little sucker.
