Does the 7SII indicate at all what shutter time the meter has calculated? I was thinking about picking one up, using standard 1.5V cells and finding out how far off it is with a light meter but thats all useless if I don't know what the meter is calculating.

What do you want to do? The camera works with shutterpriority. You are the one who chooses the shutter time, the camera sets the aperture (in A-mode), indicated in the viewfinder.

You can compare the aperture reading vs. a separate meter if necessary. But it shouldn't be necessary, as the 7sII is calibrated to work properly with currently available 1.5v silver-oxide batteries.

Oh, I thought it was an aperture priority camera. My mistake.
