Picked up this little gem after reuniting myself with my Hi Matic -E . Images out of both of these cameras are so sharp . Other may know this but I found out by chance that the AF-L will lock exposure if shutter is mashed down halfway. I guess a manual would have told me this. It did come in handy for #3

My Al-F just arrived. Very nice camera. I dont find it as durable as my SLR XD7 but still it seems to be in near mint condition and practically undestructible. Is there any way to turn the lightmeter off to spare some battery power?

yes, turn the shutter speed dial to the flash symbol at the power will go off.
