Hello
I have a Minolta AL-F , sold me as broken (very cheap). The shutter showed no reaction, but I managed to make it work - I hear different sounds at different speeds, I just need to confirm it is correct. The rangefinder is fine, the viewfinder is bright and the lenses are clean.
However, after removing the dead battery and using a fresh 1,5 v battery, the lightmeter needle stays at 2.7 - it moves slightly when the shutter is fired (with or without battery). There were no visble signs of corrosion or other damage in the place where the battery stays (but I've cleaned it, just in case),
Any thoughts on the probable cause ? Corrosion damage in the electric circuits ? Dead meter due to senility ? I hope that's not the 1.35 v to 1.5 v battery power difference that is paralyzing the meter ...Or is it ?
Any easy tips to solve the problem ? Or should I ask for a professional help ?
Thank you in advance for opinions or sugestions. It looks a very nice camera, I would like to make it work.
Regards
Joao
