I recently scored a decent condition CLE on the 'Bay and noticed that the door doesn't have any light seal strips. There's just some sticky seals on the door hinge where it meets the body. Could someone open up the back of their CLE and let me know if this is normal or if I need to stick some seals on the door?

Also, I noticed that sometimes the light meter will indicate two adjacent shutter speeds if the light value is questionable. Does that mean the shutter fires at a speed between say, 60 and 125? Or is this an indication that the shutter contacts need to be cleaned? Thanks for any and all answers.

Mine used to have a strip of foam near the hinge at the door. Mostly gone now and doesn't leak.
Indicating two lights means a speed in between.

Nice camera! You will like it I'm sure!

cheers, Rob.

That's the way the seal of the CLE's are. Apart from the hinge seal, the main length of the seal is actually in the channel where the rear door slides into and you usually cant see it. This particular seal does get squashed deep into the channel and if never replaced you begin to get light leaks which appear as pink line fogging on your colour prints.

The CLE has variable speeds in Auto where it selects shutter speeds in between those shown on the dial. When 2 speeds light up that's telling you that the shutter speed is in between the two speed where the LED's are illuminating. All sounds normal with your camera
