Minolta CLE question, fixing?

Started by trying to fix the back, lets just say I'm happy I got the parts camera, because it actually turned out that the seller had tried to do something or another to this camera at one time and had it apart. Parts from the "repair" camera were in with the "parts" camera. haha. I just kind of had to fix one thing, then find the next, fix that, so on and so forth. It was actually kind of fun.

So I figured it all out and now I have a perfectly working CLE (and a parts CLE) w/ 2 lenses (28/3.5 Voightlander and a 40/2 Leica), all for about 950 bucks. :D Pretty happy with myself, haha.

And I just picked up my 28mm from the front porch! :)
You HAVE been having fun, looks like! Congratulations for getting the CLE back working so quickly; obviously you did much better than the previous owner! Glad to hear you got the 28 Skopar safely too. :)

heh. From the sound of things I should mail my CL to you to adjust the meter to silver oxide batteries... :D More seriously, that's good work. I'm finding a whole lot to like about the CL and the CLE just seems like an even nicer version of the camera. Enjoy! And I'll look forward to seeing pics from you.

BTW, the 40/2 is incredible. It's hard to find enough superlatives to do it justice... yes, really. (I'm one lucky puppy right now - a CL with 40/2, 50/2 collapsible, & a 90/4 prewar plus my Canon 7 with it's 50/1.8 which is a superlative sucking lens as well.) I've no direct experience with the 28/3.5 but I loved the 35/2.5 from them that I used to own. If it's even close to that one, you'll have no complaints :)

Haha, I'm just good at fiddling is all.

I was one of those lucky kids where my parent bought me broken things to take apart, I'm sure it had to do with the fact that I was taking apart their perfectly working things as well.

Thanks again Doug.

They seem like a fun toy William. I was looking at a f0.95 lens on ebay awhile back, man that would be fun, but I'd definitely need a bigger camera than my CLE for that! haha.

Can't wait to get my test film back, just shot a couple of rolls around the house. I'll get one roll of color back tomorrow, we'll see if I have any other issues to work out, haha.

I still think it needs to go see a doctor to get it all lubed up and some of the rubber/foam fixed up. This summer maybe, I'll have to call a couple of those places you suggested Doug.
