Minolta Hi-Matic 7s Battery ?

Hi everyone !

I have a hi--matic 7s and i dont have the px625 battery, tonight, i decided to put a 1.5 volt battery in the camera, and it work !

Does the battery change the efficacity of the meter or makes errors ?

Did anyone try that ?

The Meter on the Hi-Matic 7s and 9 is an EV scale and not for shutter speed or aperture. It will not change when the settings on the camera are changed, but only change to indicate a different light level, as you discovered. The camera is used manually by first setting either your shutter speed or aperture. Then you check the EV reading in the viewfinder and move the other selector ring so that the EV number on the lens barrel matches the EV number shown in the viewfinder. Additionally, once set, there are a number of shutter / aperture combinations with the same EV that can be selected to control motion blur and / or depth of field. I hope this is helpful.
