Hi all I have been looking at a listing for a MINOLTA HI-MATIC 7SII the seller states EVERYTHING ON THE CAMERA WORKS EXCEPT THE APPERATURE ALWAYS STAYS THE SAME----AT THE SMALLEST SETTING is this a comon problen? Is it an easy fix. I have just started with rangefinders. I am an SLR and DSLR guy but I picked up a Minolta Hi-Matic F at the goodwill now I have 4 of them and want more ( Minolta Hi-Matic F, Hi-Matic AF-D, Hi-Matic E and a Canonet QL17 won on ebay last night )

Well, I have seen this happen on many fixed-lens RF's, -but lucky for me- not my 7s-II. I have removed the front element and used Ronsonol (lighter fluid) and/or Isopropyl alchohol to flood-clean dried oils on the blades. This usually frees them up.

The Himatic 7s-II is the most "coveted" of the line, and usually fetches a fair bit. If you are not into DIY repairs, it is worth the money having it done profesionally.
