Hi Guys! I currently have a Minolta Hi-Matic G and I'm looking for a lens hood for it. Any suggestions? I have read that 55mm lens hood might work but I need to be sure first. Thanks!

Hi the Himatic G has a 46mm thread size. Generic lens hoods are available on ebay or Minolta made one (not sure of model number), or use two filters stacked together, with the glass knocked out of them. If you buy a generic hood, make sure it is wide angle enough not to vignette with the lens. A straight hood is preferable so the rangefinder window is not blocked.

If it's a 46 mm hood, try Jack the Hat

At http://minolta.eazypix.de/shades/lensshades.html the OEM lens hoods for 46mm came in both clamp-on and screw on varieties. The screw-in ones were D46NA-D46ND (four versions through time, with the last letter incrementing with each succeeding rev). Although not listed, the clamp-on version should be the D48KA-D48KE.
