hello all I have just bought the above camera from you know where When I put a battery in it, the needle in the view finder went right to the top denoting 5.7ev shutter speed 1/15, it does not matter if I face the camera into shade or sun . Has the auto exposure system had it? I can still use the camera on manual if I have to.Any help gratefully received.🙂

Which model do you have?

The Hi-Matic 7 and Hi-Matic 9 can be used on full manual, not sure about the 11.

Make sure the camera is set to "AA" if a 7 or a 9.

I have the 7s and I had it set to AA. If I have to use it at manual all the time what has gone wrong and can I fix it or buy another camera? Thanks

On the 7s, if I recall correctly, the ASA setting slider also doubles as the on/off switch for the meter. You might try sliding that through its full range several times and see if that gets your meter working.
