Minolta Himatic 7SII Test Shot

Hi a rangefinder newbie here.😉

So I bought rangefinder and thought I experience what it feels like to play with a 30 year old camera. Since this is my first and second roll, i guess I can still call it a test shot. 😛
Man it is tough. U either judge the distance for focusing or use the focusing patch and align the two images to focus. Kind of Crazy, i dont even know the distance from my room to my washroom. 😀
I begin to really admire the skill u guys possess.

Below are shot with Minolta Himatic 7SII with Kodak Gold 200 and some cheap expired film. Just collected another RF, the Olympus 35 RC after fixing the metering cos it "swallow" all my first roll with too much "light". Only one survived.

Well some of the shots looks ok to me but is it acceptable to you? Is it reasonbly sharp to your eyes? I somehow finds that olympus 35RC results are sharper.

Hoping very much to get better results with my next attempt

Well saturated colours, little evidence of flare. You have a good camera there, or cameras. Focussing and setting exposure are not all that difficult: you should soon get the hang of it.

Thanks payasam. I feel much better now.

The cam meter seems to need servicing though and I have to compensate by pushing it to ISO 800 to get a proper exposure using ISO 200 film.

But I can still live with it.

The word "pushing" suggests the wrong thing. I have a Canon FTb whose meter has to be set to 1600 if it is to give correct readings for 100. Not a big deal.
