Minolta SRT-101/102?

I have a SRT101 that Greg Stelz just went completely over (he strips it completely down) and he is right, it is amazing how bright and clean the viewfinder becomes after a complete thorough cleaning. And he fires the camera for a couple of weeks after oiling the springs, to let the oil really sink in. And calibrates the shutter several times, including right before shipment. I am really impressed with his work, and have several other bodies that could use a complete overhaul at his spa. And he calibrated the meter to run on 357 watch batteries, and it is now -dead-on- with my most accurate handheld meters.

i have a srt 102.. i bought it with the 35 2.8 for $20 used. works perfectly. i also found a whole set of minolta md lenses at my dads :)

All of the srT's are fine cameras but the best of the best would be the 102 and 202...

I had a 102 that I found at a garage sale for $5...at first it didn't want to fire at the correct speeds but after many attempts it soon sprung back to life...my son used it for a few years...
It was a Christmas Giveaway camera last year or the year before..I forget who got it...

It was real easy showing him how to meter....line up the stick with the lollipop and you're good to go...he did a great job on one of his school projects...
The 102's were one of the first cameras I had used in high school...

+1 for Minolta X-700 / X-570 / X-300

If you find the viewfinder a little small/dim - do look at the X-range as others have said.

I have an X-300 that came free with a 35-70/3.5. The finder is amazingly big 'n' bright - with a split prism and matte screen that's a joy to manually focus. Much better than my Konica FT-1 - which isn't exactly too shabby either!

Well, the thread is almost five months old - most likely the OP already made his choice. However, the X-series cameras are nice, the XD is even nicer. Between the 101 and 102, the last one is the best, I have a SR-T Super (asian 102) and it is real nice camera and it is better looking then the 101.

What's are the main differences between the X-100's vs the XD range? Apart from a faster shutter speed and DOF preview, I don't think I'm missing much from my humble X-300.
