Minolta: The right SLR for me?

Here's a summary of the features that matter to me, for the bodies I've used. They all do everything you need. The differences are in the "nice to haves."

X-370 and X7A:
- meter read out shows recommended shutter speed and actual setting in Manual mode, but does not show aperture at all. (my favorite meter when using manual mode)
- Aperture priority auto mode
- very bright split image focus screen

XG-M:
- meter read out does not show actual shutter speed setting in Manual Mode; shows recommended setting and actual aperture through optical window that is only visible with adequate light.
- Aperture priority mode
- DOF preview
- exposure comp
- very bright split image focus screen

X-700: - meter read out does not show actual shutter speed setting in Manual Mode; shows recommended shutter setting and actual aperture through optical window that is only visible with adequate light.
- Aperture priority and Program mode
- DOF preview
- exposure comp
- TTL flash capability
- very bright split image focus screen

SRT101:
- match needle meter read out
- DOF preview
- mirror lock-up
- all mechanical shutter
- moderately bright focus screen with no split image

Hope this is useful.

I think that lack of speed read out is due to the XD-7 had a periscope showing the shutter speed and when it disappeared on cheaper/later models, they kept the same kind of shutter but forgot about the speed.
