I really have been trying to clear out some gear but my friends aren't helping.🙄
On Saturday, I was given a largish camera bag which has inside it a Minolta X570 with the 50/ f1.7 lens, a Vivitar 70 to 150 zoom (and its own matched tele-exrender), a few random filters, manuals, and a Vivitar 3500 flash.
And a really nice Gossen Pilot 2 meter. I just gave away one of those but apparently I'm meant to have one.

When the camera and flash were put away, the person doing that took the batteries out and so no issues there.
The y did leave the batteries in the camera bag but they were all duds.
I popped some new ones into the camera and it is seemingly working just fine.
Trying to simplify my gear isn't working too well this winter...
I guess I will just live with 5 different SLR systems. 😀
It is nice to have choices, I suppose.

People give me cameras like that or I pick them up locally through Craigslist for very little money. Recent purchases were a Minolta XD-11, 50mm Rokkor lens and Vivitar 283 flash for $40 and an Olympus OM-1 with 28mm and 75-150mm OM lenses for $40, all in excellent condition. Besides enjoying using these nice cameras, I feel that I'm rescuing this perfectly good equipment from being thrown out.

Yes, it nice to have a variety of cameras as they're all slightly different.

An excellent, detailed site for Minolta manual focus:
