Minolta

I had an SRT-101 with some lenses, and, though it was built like a tank, it was rather good. But I'm not an SLR guy, so it moved on. Then I got a HiMatic 7S from a charity shop, and was pleased to find out that it had a lot of the features of the SRT (including the excellent metering) in a rangefinder format. Sadly, I can't get the meter to work, and the finder seems cloudy, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it's clearly good quality gear.

Minolta also made very good enlarging lenses. I have the 80mm and 50mm C.E. Rokkor-X lenses, and they're at least as good as any EL-Nikkor or Rodagon that I've used. I went nuts a couple of years ago and bought a bunch of Rokkor leses and a couple of SR-T 101 and XE-7 bodies when Minolta glass was selling at bargain basement prices. Now that Minolta Rokkors have been "discovered", It would be quite a bit more expensive to build up the system I have now.

I don't know what it is about the hood-flange model, but it's usually not in focus. No such problem with the screw-on hood model. I think I just got a bad copy.

PF
Mine has a flange hood 😕
The flange is however metal, as I understand it, with the 5/5 one, the flange is plastic. So, I have the better 28mm 😎

Without pictures it didn't happen. Not a great picture, but it is what I have on-line:
